Our new Scoutmaster

Troop 294 Scoutmaster

Andrew Humiston
Scoutmaster, Troop 294

A message from the Committee Chair: First I would like to THANK Lucy Mikroberts for her 2 years of serving as Scout Master. During her time in this role she has helped revamp the various duties and prepared the way for the future of our troop. Her dedication and commitment to our youth continues as she assists in transitioning our next leader.

I am proud to announce our new Scout Master, our very own Eagle Scout Andrew Humiston.

Andrew has mainly served in our troop as an adult leader and mentor working with the 1st year scouts that are crossing over for the past 3 years. Before that, he as worked as a camp councilor at Phillippo and currently is in a supervisory role at Base Camp. He has the unique experience of knowing how to run a program while still remembering what it is like to go through it. In his role as an Eagle Scout, he has already established himself as a mentor and role model for the youth. As both a parent and Committee Chair, I am confident that he will exceed our expectations. Please help me welcome him by offering your support in what ever way is needed.

A message from Andrew Humiston: Thank you for the opportunity to work as your new Scoutmaster; having been involved with scouting for 16 years, it is an honor to now be a Scoutmaster. I look forward to helping the troop grow by hopefully introducing more kids to our program, to have more youth and adults experience how much fun camping and the outdoors can be, and, as always, help our scouts continue on with rank advancement. I am an easy going guy who has enjoyed scouts my whole life, through cub scouts, boy scouts, Order of the Arrow, Phillippo Scout Reservation, and now Base Camp. I hope to pass on my knowledge and love of scouts to everyone in our troop. Please feel free to come to me with suggestions, comments, and concerns about the troop.
